Flatshare - Conned by a flatmate

[Long Post Edited because it did not meet the site's new Oxbridge English requirements. Seems like someone got conned...]

Beware of this situation: Ask your flatmate at least to show you a tenancy agreement signed with owner, the owner's name can be found in Land Registry. Do not hand your money to someone sub-let from a sub-let.
    I know I was stupid.

Restored some sanity and edited out a fair bit of verbiage which might have tested our oh so esteemed British reader's comprehension levels.

Going way OT. Can I check that the site's new language policy means you will filter out the usage of American English? If so, I do welcome that.

How did you come across the property? Was it advertised or word of mouth?

Was via an ad through the other expat site.
That was edited out from original post.

    Thanks jimbo.

A sublet is not something I would consider, unless there was agreement with landlord. A sublet of a sublet - run.

When the apocalypse comes, editors, lawyers and netvigator salesmen will be put up as human sacrifices, in that order.
