Golden Wedding Anniversary Gift ideas (that's 50 years)

Parents are celebrating this soon in the UK and I'm going over... need a gift... really struggling for ideas! Anyone got any? They like gardening (but are getting a bit old for it) so I pondered on a rose from glut.co.uk but in the end I'm not sure I like it. Other than that, no real hobbies. Nothing techy, not really into that.

    Here we go again?

No idea... but maybe movie passes (small)? Package for a day-out somewhere? Special concert/theatre in London? Is Judi Dench performing anywhere sometime soon?

For such an event, you may want all children chip in for something big. Think like a cruise/trip to someplace they've never been but always wanted to go to.
less big indeed a night out, theatre and such.
I find when people get older they don't really enjoy material gifts as much as they enjoy experiences and memories. My opinion ofcourse

Looked into that, not too long ago.
Another idea is a short North Sea cruise
    or
If budget allows a long around the UK cruise if they like colder temps
    or
    Ocean crossing
    or
Cruise around the med if they like heat

Great ideas from knk and HC. Maybe also consider a Nile cruise. My ancient mother really enjoyed that.

I love the ideas. Never thought of a holiday for them.

Shame you just missed the Chelsea Flower Show as a weekend trip to London including that might have been good.

Are they into history as well as gardening? Leeds Castle offer accommodation (to suit various budgets) and it means free private access to the gardens etc when the public have gone home/before they arrive.
