    A time gone by

    I stumbled upon this 1930's footage of what Hong Kong looked like 70 years ago, and cant help thinking how amazing, how beautiful, and well kept it all looked back then. On reflection, looking at what Hong Kong has transformed into, it's such a shame that modernization has pretty much erased architecturally speaking, what once looked so grand, classy and visually pleasing to the eye. Hong Kong really was a grand old lady of Asia.

    Wouldn't it be great to have the chance to go back in time, and visit 1930's Hong Kong, during its grandest phase of development. Quiet a pretty city back then, and great to see how she once was, via the video below.

    Yes, from an Anglocentric POV, it was "The Good Ol' Times".
    Unforunately, they didn't show the slums of the Kowloon Walled City or Shamshuipo!

    Most cities were beautiful back then. What ruined urban areas: the automobile.
