    Best TV Shows 2022

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with Star Trek, Strange New Worlds, which has the USS Enterprise Captained by a young Christopher Pyke, set about 15 years before James T Kirk gets command. I think from what I have read so far, they're going to go back to being an episodic format like the original 60's TV series while also ( I hope ) they follow a more optimistic feel for each story, while doing a great job at updating the interior of the original Enterprise with a modern twist. Would be cool if they went for the velour uniforms again too. Should be pretty cool and one series that long term fans, myself included have wanted for long time. I don't think we'll see the pilot out this year, so early 2022 will likely be when it is released.

Shouldn't we go on here? Anyway....

Just watched e01 of Station Eleven - an apocalyptic virus mini-series. Will watch the rest. Recently saw quite a bit Himesh Patel, very enjoyable!

Stay close. A Netflix whodunnit that has a convoluted start with disjointed flashbacks used to dis-interest the viewer from staying to episode 3 where the things start to flow. The killer is very obvious from early on if you use deduction based on value to the plot. Also the two worst hitmen in TV history - the ‘musical theatre murderers’

Son of Critch - a coming of age in a small unfashionable North American city in the mid 80s (with a mini Rose Leslie???)

    - Hawkeye. Binged this during Xmas. Enjoyable as most of the recent MCU mini-series have been although I place it below Loki and Wandavision in terms of intrigue and production quality. Tony Dalton makes for the best goofy semi-villain.

    - Cobra Kai season 4 - I've only watched the first couple of episodes and while still formulaic, it's still enjoyable as they still manage to find interesting plot twists and new story lines. I think the action has also improved over the past few seasons (probably because the actors themselves are becoming more skilled in martial arts)

    - Book of Boba Fett - Episode 1 was a yawner although ep 2 is much more enjoyable. Creating a backstory for Boba Fett is every nerdy fanboy's wet dream so I am optimistic that they will deliver on the fan service by the end of the series. As much as I love Ming Wen, she's so darn one dimensional - at times I thought I was still watching Agents of Shield where Melinda May is basically Fennec Shand stranded in the desert. I love watching Temuera Morrison's Maori roots show when he's fighting, even the goofy haka dance that he leads the Tusken Raider's in at the end of the ep.

Ok, Station Eleven was rather strange.

With The Expanse just finished (the last season had only 6 episodes) my SciFi list was empty, so I tried "The Silent Sea"

There is an original Korean version and an English dubbed version, dubbing very well done. Genre is SciFiHorror, maybe a bit like Alien, that's my impression after the first episode.

Peacemaker has been a delight to watch so far. John Cena's comedic timing is surprisingly spot on.

Yeah I lost interest in Station Eleven by episode 3, it just didnt work for me..

Good news though, Ricky Gervais's, Afterlife season 3 ( the final ) started up again over the weekend and I stumbled upon a funny French comedy series called, Family Business, which I m about halfway through season 1 with another 2.5 saisons to happily binge through.

There's waaay too many plot points brushed over like nothing happens. Like, how the HELL do they go to their own national moon base...without knowing THE LAYOUT?! And nobody bothers in asking or checking what the mission is about...and so many details are brushed with "it's secret/they didn't share that information/we just don't know" and the whole crew is "meh, let's just go anyway". Not to mention all the "science" behind the lunar water. I seriously believe they could have easily chosen a different molecule than one everyone can easily understand, to explain all that dark magic science. Several key plot points seem to give the impression they really didn't give all that much budget to the script after they spent it all on (admittedly, rather cool) visuals.

Regarding The Expanse...Here's to hope Amazon/Netflix change their mind and decide to sign a new contract for the remaining 3 books. They clearly let several plots open on purpose. Did you see the whole list of wink-wink easter egg names on the health status panel of the attack team?

Admiral Ackbar, Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Commander Shepard...they're all there
