By the way, that lovely flat with peaceful woods view I bought for my mother for US 62k in 2020 (still cost about the same in 2025). 2BR 2BA about 900 square feet.

People always asking why I don't buy a place in HK or Taiwan...yeah, that's why. Even now, there's incredibly cheap real estate in the US, while the flat I live in now (about 7 years old, rent about 1100 US ) sells for about 700k US.
Smaller, one bathroom. I just can't bring myself to pay NYC level prices.

I also found a forever home for a kitten I had been fostering for 5 weeks in a slim hope my senior cat would accept her, but was not to be.

Anyway she is healthy and happy with a loving cat family.

Good for you! My senior cat was very accepting and loving but once her fractured leg was repaired and she could run (fast!) the chase and attacks were on. Hunt him down and bite his throat, yes, little feral thing would have been a very successful hunter.

So, in my case, my senior cat was entirely without blame other than just being great prey...

People say "oh, they'll learn to get along." I feel like in a bigger space, maybe each can carve out its own territory but that's not always a happy coexistence.
