    With sandwich bread diagonal if it's a savory sandwich (i.e. ham and cheese). Square if it's a sweet sandwich (i.e. peanut butter and jelly). A sandwich on baguette is cut in half in the middle on a slight diagonal so the first bite is easier to access.

    Oh FFS they do not slice bagels like this in St. Louis.

    I cut mine square. I'd cut diagonal but it won't fit in my lunchbox.

    I lived in St. Louis nearly two decades. They don't cut bagels like that. Maybe a few deviants but not the population as a whole.
