Guess you haven't run into me yet

I agree though, when I do see people with a printed novel, more often than not they are books in English.

Well, I've been reading in English, Chinese, and Japanese, both electronic versions and printed versions. When I paddle a kayak solo, I often listen to audiobooks on a waterproof MP3 player. When I'm in the city or in transit, I usually read off my cell phone, but I also read Japanese pocket-sized novels. I'm currently reading a printed Jing-Yung novel in Chinese, but the book is too big for me to carry around, so I only read it when I am ... on the toilet For some reasons I don't see many "pocket sized" English books out there either, so if I read novels in English, it's more convenient to read off a cell phone.

For me, novels are a little weighty to be carting all over the place. Plus I like to keep my books pristine, so I would rarely be caught reading one on the MTR. I do read the paper and magazines though. And not gossip magazines, either. Usually The Economist.
