What do you love, hate about HK?

We all have things we love and hate about the Country we're from, but thought I'd start one on HK and what everyone loves, hates, finds humorous or revolting about HK

Here's what I've come up with so far

    Hate
    Humidity
People cramming onto the MTR when there clearly is no space and literally breathing on you and knocking you out with their bags
    Spitting
People talking in movies, and adding their own commentary
    The difficulty of buying cereal
The quality of clothing/shoes unless branded
The lack of civilization and manners from some individuals
The cheesy public display of public affection from young kids
The large collection of coupons the customer in front of you at the superstore has
How some people behave/act like they’re better than you and they’re the greatest thing god has created
The price of salad in superstores
The prices of English books in HK
Not being able to read Chinese menu’s
The mass amount of pressure people place on their kids education and making them do a billion extra hours of extra curricular classes

    Love
    Food – range/quality/price etc
    Cheap transportation
    Convenience of the MTR/Bus/Taxi
How you can use your Octopus card for everything – get into your building, get into work, purchasing things at 7-11 etc
    Wide range of cheap accessories
How you can grab something to eat anytime of the day
Watching the groups of people doing Tai Chi in the middle of parks
How most stores are open until late
The culture of lunch breaks at work
Convenience and cost of travelling to other Asian countries.
The coverage of Premier league football
    Low income tax

    Humorous
Females who wear heels to work who clearly can’t walk in them
Adults who wear hello kitty hair pieces
The range of contrasting clothing colors that people wear in an outfit that don’t match (red bag, blue shoes, yellow top, purple stockings)
The cute attempts of restaurants translating their menus to English
Poses for pictures that girls make
How locals think travelling 30 minutes to another location is far
How I now think travelling 20 minutes to another location is far

    Revolting
People picking their nose/hair in public
People doing the above who then roll it in their fingers and then eat it
    People burping/farting in public
    Spitting
Females who sit opposite you on the MTR with their legs wide open

I hate the fact that this topic comes up on expat forums about every 3 months and we go through the same old boring stuff over and over and over again.

"What do you love, hate about HK?"

Expats who bitch about how Hong Kong is different to back home.

Expats who bitch about how foreign Hong Kong is.

Expats who bitch about how expensive imported products are compared with back home.

Expats who bitch about how expensive housing is here.

Expats who bitch about how expensive (private) schooling is here.

Expats who bitch about all the foreigners' (i.e. locals) habits.

Expats who bitch about how Hong Kong drives on the wrong side of the road.

Expats who bitch about having to pay tax here.

Expats who bitch about a simple tax system without lots of allowances for tax deductions.

Expats who bitch about having to follow local laws when they can do the same thing back home and not be arrested.

Expats who bitch about the lack of real Chinese food like back home.

Expats who think everything (and everyone) is negotiable, except them.

Expats who think a foreign passport automatically means a higher salary and lots of perks.

Expats who demand an imaginary expat "life" to boast about to friends/families back home.

Expats who think it's okay to leave Hong Kong owing the government, their bank, their maid, their workmen, their landlords, etc.

Expats who bitch about ... [fill in as applicable]

Over the past quarter of a century, I've come across too many expat twassocks to count so I thought it was time...

Actually I think the OP's thread it much wider than "Rude Hong Kong" - which was really just about the things we hate not the things we love

I tend to agree with much of the OP's list ... so I'll just add my variations:

    Hates:
    Pollution
    Pollution
    Lack of a decent "everything in one place" western supermarket at decent prices;
Lack of cheap healthy lunch options near Admiralty
    Any form of phone-based customer service (or, in fact, the lack of all service in any form of customer service organisation);
The fact that most locals cannot think "outside the box"
... oh - did I mention the POLLUTION?

    Loves:
    The hiking trails
Love better: Hiking trails on a CLEAR day

    Humorous:
Pretty much any form of local fashion
Especially people wearing fur coats and scarves in "winter"

    Revolting:
Nail clipping on all forms of public transport

"Females who wear heels to work who clearly can’t walk in them"

I'm going to latch onto this one here as I hadn't realised that other people picked up on this.

Is wobbly-heel syndrome much more common in HK than in other countries? What causes it- is it a question of technique/practice (I'm a guy, therefore clueless) or is it down to weak ankles?

To be fair to the OP, if you know a topic is going to bore you you don't have to read it.

I like this thread because it has a positive aspect to it rather than just moaning about the things that bug us all.

    Hate:
Same old stuff, pollution, customer "service" etc
The fact that everybody walks like they have nowhere to be. Walk faster or get out of my way!
    Obligatory 10% service charge
Hong Kong airport - it's rubbish

    Love:
    The hiking
    Champagne brunches
    Junk trips
The fact I can watch more English football on TV than in England
    Watching sport in HK pubs
    HK pubs
    Cheap taxis
    Cheap taxes
    The view from TST
The fact I can walk to work
The fact that if I choose not to walk to work the buses are frequent, clean and cheap
    Tai O
    Graham Street markets
    All the neon signs
    The Sevens
    Tai Lon Wan
    The can-do attitude

    Humour:

    The comedy slogans on T-shirts
Wanko (purile I know but it makes me smile every time)

Loads more stuff I love but those are the main points methinks!
