That's really going to piss off Beijing. Kudos to the Nobel committee for not buckling under pressure and an award well deserved.

Global Times: Another year of Nobel Prize disappointment

Over the years, the domestic media has teased the Chinese public for having a Nobel Prize complex. The country desperately wants to achieve international recognition to prove its ability in creation and innovation, but it always seems in vain.

    Xinhua:
Awarding Liu Xiaobo Nobel peace prize may harm China-Norway relations, says FM spokesman

BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to China's Liu Xiaobo desecrated the prize and could harm China-Norway ties, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu on Friday.
