    They do have water cannon available but they have never been used.

    What is sad about this one was the young age of many involved and the scale of areas compared to previous incidents. poll tax and anti-capitalism riots seem to be pipsqueaks in comparison.

    When it comes to water cannon and rubber bullets etc, the metropolitan police haven't used them before so not sure how effective it would be unless they get some retired officers from northern ireland combined with some ex-KGB types living in Knightsbridge wanting to re-live their younger days.
