London 2012: The 8,000 mile journey of the Olympic torch

See The Guardian for an interactive version.

I wonder if Chinese overseas students in the UK are planning protests; if so, what about?

The IOC banned the global torch relay after the 2008 relay was greeted with protests around the world (gee, I wonder why...hmmm...Beijing....Tibet...human rights). I guess IOC figure out the global torch relay would just be a magnet to attract media attention of the wrong sort. Atlhough I don't see how they can prevent protests against a torch relay in UK, protest for what? I wish I knew...can be all sort of reasons.

Really? You only realized that now?

Actually, I bet those athletes don't find it useless. Neither will those companies with contracts to construct or manage the Olympics, or the workers who are given jobs because of the Olympics.

My bad. Yes, I would agree, the flame is utterly irrelevant. Maybe even a nuisance with the police blocking traffic and all that. And what do they get in return?

An opportunity to protest about something?
