    Nora Aunor

    I just discovered this :

    http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/entertain...-smoking-photo

Is there really a big debate going on in the Philippines now ?
Or how common / socially accepted is female smoking ?
What's your estimate of female smoking prevalence there ?

What is your obsession with women smoking?

No there is not a big debate going on at least with regards to women smoking. There is a big campaign to make Manila a smoking free city. I guess more men smoke than women but it is not rare or frowned on. My wife smokes when she is drinking and nags me to stop when she is not.

Will if you are planning to get into the smoking industry in the Philippines just note cigs sell for between HK$3 and HK$7 per pack.

Thanks. Your input is highly appreciated.
What's the average income on the Philippines, according to your estimate ?
In HK, I would assume the vast majority of people earns between HK$ 20k to 30k before tax, for China my wild guess is RMB 3,000 to 6,000, what's it like over there ?
In what income range would you put most people ?

No idea what the average is but a typical salary would be HK$2000 or so per month

Thanks for this link and for proving me wrong. actually, it's very uneven with roughly 40% earning between HK$ 10k and 25k in 2006.

And keep in mind that these are unfortunately household statistics, with a number of these households having dual incomes and trying to put their kids through school etc.
