Will there now be meaningful debate on gun control in the USA?
I doubt it.
Sickening, predictable, preventable.

What I can't get over, gun control aside, is WHY the killing en masse? What provokes someone to take out 20 young children? Difficult enough to comprehend someone killing another - why also go on to murder dozens of others?
The problem is not guns, but mental health.
If you have a gun, you use *it*. If you dont, you use whatever you can:

USA has a huge problem with the mentally ill not getting enough and proper treatment...
I was just about to post that story HC. There was also one a few years back in Akihabara, Tokyo, involving a man driving a truck into a crowd then knifing.
I thought this had been discussed over and over again

Not to mention, in that knife example, the guy would definitely have killed more than 22 children if he has a gun.

2 or 22, does it make it any less of a tragedy.
The root of the problem is mental illness. If you dont fix that the problem will continue with or without guns.
Take away the guns today but will still leave access to cars, knives, hands and countless other choice of weapons and tragedies (albeit most likely smaller) will continue until the issues around mental health are dealt with.
These shootings are directly related to the gun control situation in the States. It is very clear. They need to change their gun control law immediately; they owe it to their citizens. It is mistaken to think that all these shooters are psychopaths or are often suffering from serious cases of mental illnesses, NOT TRUE! An otherwise very normal person could suddenly flipped because something bad happen to him/her or to his/her family.
I would guess it's much harder mental bridge to cross, killing with a knife vs. killing at a distance with a gun.....
Seriously I don't want to get into this. It's something I don't really pay much attentions to, so can't really comment.
Maybe some can look into
- licensed gun murdering vs unlicensed gun murdering.
somewhere along those lines.
What do you really know about US? Stop trying to pretend guns arent a problem in the US. Guns ARE the problem and you have to f'ing blind or stupid to think otherwise.
I've had enough of republicans, fox news, the NRA and all the gun toting idiots.
Americans need to start disarming themselves. This is getting rediculus.
