i have no respect for Mélenchon. His ideas are his ideas fine and we may not agree but can respect different ideas but I have an issue when the guy (on the left side of the equation) does not ask his supporters to go on Sunday and vote Macron. This is irresponsible and sad. Lost total credibility.

Not strange, in many ways they're very alike.

    Anti-NATO
    Anti-EU
    Anti-neoliberalism
    Anti-establishment

    Pro-Russia
    France comes first

They differ in their implementations, but they have common causes.

That's cos u know little of those recent election I would say.

Macron is a real change in French Politics. Yeah he was a minister under Holland but he left when he disagreed big time w him on policies and decided to create his own movement. Contrary to a Trump he w et without a proper party and defeated the 3 traditional parties, left right and extreme right.

he won't change France (too many variables) but he sure will make sure we stay well in Europe and I hope he manages to break down the work laws that are absolutely awful in France (and work totally against the comptetitiveness of the country). And contrary to a Trump... minorities , gay, lesbian and the likes can breath a sight of relief... w Marine... no comment

Unfortunately many seem to confuse being part of Europe as being part of the EU.

There are around 18 European Countries that are not part of the E.U.

That the Front National could get so many votes shows something is wrong within France. Personally I would not compare UKIP to FN although many would.

The new president hasn't said much that would heal what is causing such extreme voting.

Just more of the same with a little de-regulation.

Anyway must be better than Holland
