    BANNED.

    Cause why not?

"The Chinese Basketball Association just announced it is suspending all cooperation with @HoustonRockets following what it called "improper talk about Hong Kong" from GM @dmorey."

Time to embrace DIY upcycing costumes and do away with that cheap crap that goes straight to the landfill.

By "going all CCP" on an NBA team, the CCP may have gotten more bang for their RMB (or rather threat of lack thereof) than they ever hoped for.

Attacking both a (the?) holy national sport and freedom of speech in one fell swoop will guarantee a political backlash, and a solid bi-party one at that.

But there's more! US businesses might finally realize that simply playing in the PRC incurs the built-in cost of kowtowing to the Party and people in the West are getting tired of it.

Rights activists have for decades called for ethics to be part of the business equation with dictatorships, but it could be the CCP itself that finally makes it come true.

    Xie Xie, Xi Dada.

Apple just took the Quartz app out of the Chinese app store at the request of China, and http://qz.com is now blocked from mainland China.

Now Chinese state media says the Hong Kong protests are hate crimes and thus freedom of expression does not apply.

Seriously. Trump could still pull an "MFN-to-PRC in exchange for a trump tower in Lhasa" card out of some cavity of his, but by now even Trump's redneck base is incensed that the CCP is ordering their sport around. It's increasingly looking like the next president is unlikely to be a panda panderer.

Why is that the CCP would undoubtably consider reciprocity a hostile act? Isn't that odd by definition?
