    Typhoon Hato was Category 3 (Saffir–Simpson scale) with maximum 1-minute sustained winds of 185km/h.

    Hurricane Irma was Category 5 when it entered the Caribbean with maximum sustained winds of 300km/h.

    Basically, if Hurricane Irma would have hit Hong Kong, it would still be a Signal 10 (that's the highest), but the damage would be much much worse.
