Sara Duterte taunts Trillanes, posts ‘triad tattoo’ | News | GMA News Online
Weird post. No one thinks that. Is it getting better, the large majority think yes, safer, less crime, less poverty, less hunger, free tertiary education, free healthcare for the poor approved (already in place for many), more jobs, one of the fastest growing economies in the world...... starting from a low place with many extreme problems but moving up.
This year it will overtake the economy of HK, perhaps in a century or two GDP per capita
Duterte has been meddling in the power industry this week. (or his Government, or senators, not sure which). Anyway, someone has decided to stop funding the electricity regulator and instead fold it into the department of energy. Now, the current regulator is pretty bad - but it is at least mainly predictable. There are a number of reforms that need to be made to it. However, the DOE is far far worse. Neither of these comments is related to corruption - merely competence! ERC is competent; DOE is mainly incompetent. I can't see this being an improvement (although stranger things have happened!).
OK - hardly an achievement if you consider the size of the "countries" and the population concerned.
It already overtook (if you can say that) Singapore but are we really comparing city state vs proper states?
As a reminder the PH have more than 10 times the population of hk....
Again not trying to be an arse Hull but you cant constantly only see the + in the PH. Country is changing but it is sooo far behind and there are sooo many issues that it's gonna be a long and painful process. Of course, we all want the country to succeed but let's compare apple w apple.
The better measure is below:
