Can heterosexual people participate? If not it would be against HK discrimination laws I believe.

the event itself isn't particularly impactful, I recall the Sydney one passed fairly unnoticed but for the big increase in tourism economically

the big win here is that this squarely puts the topic of equality on the agenda for the next 5 years - something the anti-lgbt lobbying forces will absolutely hate as it goes against their efforts to stigmatize LGBT folks

Civilisation as we know it will be destroyed, society will collapse , and marital unions shattered now this event is to occur in HK.

Once that has happened I doubt many people will notice any difference.

Shanghai can't host a gay pride walk. What are the chances HK can act like an international city and have a vibrant gay games?

'still far from unusual to encounter members of the older generation who believe that homosexuality is a foreign vice, an unfortunate by-product of China’s opening to the outside world.'
