'Havana Syndrome' - Mysterious Illnesses @ Consulates

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/06/w...ic-attack.html
In an email sent to the entire staff of the consulate, he complained that the first employee was evacuated in April, but that no one was told of the health concerns until a month later — after doctors in the United States had found evidence of brain trauma. The initial health alert, he said in an interview, suggested it was an isolated case. “They knew full well it wasn’t,” he said.
Mr. Lenzi said that over the past year he and his wife had experienced similar physical symptoms, including headaches, sleeplessness and nausea, and on three or four occasions they heard odd noises, though they did not put them together until the disclosures last month.
The consulate, which opened in 2013, is a state-of-the-art building designed to withstand electronic eavesdropping and other security and intelligence threats.
    Are they sure?

Makes me wonder if this something internal to US Embassies like their electronic systems. Prevents eavesdropping but fries the brains of the staff. I can't see what Cuba and China would gain overall from this activity.

    Found this one:

The recording is the first publicly reported audio sample said to be related to attacks that, according to a US official, may have involved the use of an acoustic device.

The device was so sophisticated, it was outside the range of audible sound, the official said. And it was so damaging, the source said, that one US diplomat now needs to use a hearing aid.

But what remains unknown is what kind of device may have been used, where exactly it was placed, and who put it there.

Anyone could be using these devices, anywhere.

Laura Hughes, an Air Force veteran, says her daughter Catherine Werner is struggling with the effects of traumatic brain injury after experiencing strange sounds and sensations at her apartment in Guangzhou, where Werner was a foreign trade officer until being medevaced out earlier this year.
"Our heads would pulse. You would feel like you would want to regurgitate. You could become instantly paralyzed, instantaneously fatigued."
They adopted a pair of dogs, hoping they would ward off intruders. Soon after, the dogs began acting strangely. "They would be shivering under the bed when we'd return to the apartment. They would vomit blood," Hughes recalled.

couldn't it be the anti-spying and anti-whatever electronics devices installed by the US of A that are generating signals and disturbances that are causing such medical effects ?
