    One of the best, most insightful things I've read on China in a long while. My first time living in China was in 2001, right at the end of the short window of opportunity where everyone believed they had a chance to make it big. Many of the featured students in the piece reminded me of people I came across during this era.

    Xianggang's not mentioned since this is about military aspects and not the "whole-process" approach to defeating the so-called democratic imperialists...

    Still, party-state patriots can be proud of the crucial service the Xianggang SAR has performed, and continues to perform, as CCP's banking colony, enabling the whole-process struggle and ensuring victory for the Party.
