    Another one!

Possibly just the tip of the iceberg.

Greenwood was technically ineligible to sponsor Diamos' visa application because he had already sponsored a previous application for two ex-partners, but the couple were found to have special circumstances and the application reached the desk of Faafoi, who declined it.

In the latest case, why can't the man (assuming a kiwi) move to Philippines with his love? As far as I can see the Filipina is on a student visa in Nz and to qualify as one the applicant needs to from a financially stable background back home. Or the whole student visa then finding an Nz citizen/resident is just a stepping stone towards attaining residency? The immigration is righly suspicious about these this types of relationships barring the age etc.

This seems dodgy. If the wife is Chinese citizen, she could sponsor the son and husband to live in China.
Not necessarily - he could get a Q visa if his wife is a PRC citizen, but that does not allow him to work there...
But whole thing seems dodgy - given that he is a former PRC citizen himself...

This reminds me of that TV show 90 day fiancé. They say love is blind...
