Regardless, IMO Kamala is defintiely able to do some "code switching."

Can we call this thread by her surname or full name and not belittle a woman by calling her by her first name only?

Writers sometimes refer to women using only their first names in contexts where they would typically refer to men by their full names, last names, or titles. But using only a person's first name is more informal and can suggest a lack of respect. For example, in academic writing, we don't refer to William Shakespeare as "William"

Yes... We men hate that! Please call us by our first names the same way you do with women.

I would argue that women tend to use their first names as 'branding' more than men do...

    Madonna
    Oprah

I never heard Michael Jackson be referred to as 'Jackson'... Why? Part of the answer might be there... also, https://yougov.co.uk/topics/lifestyl...their-spouses-

Also... stop trying to find sexism where it doesn't exist...

He was a popstar. Surname only recognition is reserved for the very powerful or impactful. (unusual surnames help getting onto this exclusive list)

    Trump
    Thatcher
    Stalin
    Obama

Mr Pence is never referred to as Pence for a very good reason

Oh Great ! Another lawyer, ( Ms Harris ) aren't you all bored of what will be the same old, same old politician that the corporate/banking side of American politics prefers to maintain its rather tired mantra ? Hardly progressive in a humanist point of view.

Give me, Mr Mark Charles presidential candidate even as vice over any of the corporate politically funded candidates. The USA like Australia ( Stan Grant for PM ) really needs much political reform that best represents indigenous and multicultural voters in the 21st century, in my opinion

    Who is Mark Charles ?

Ironically, there has been some pushback in the UK against calling the Prime Minister only by his first name, for fear of over-humanising him, making him feel more like your mate, rather than a narcissistic grifter who appears to have gotten bored of doing his job and has just taken the summer off...

I think it comes from the time he used to appear on TV shows as the buffoon that everyone thought fun to mock.

That is pushing "middle aged" to its mathematical and biological impossible limits
