Australia has always punched below weight economically-speaking. It's gotten fat on digging resources out of the earth and harvesting things that grown on it that other countries want to buy. They need to produce more value-added products. Not sure they can do that with a population the size of large Chinese city.

This thread has been neglected for a while ... restarting it.

A few mins ago from ABC (Australia) - Foreign interference charges - not sure if the person is ethnically or politically linked to China.

I guess Australia is the weakest link in the Quad and easy to target given their dependence on exports to China.

Australia's PM was just in Tokyo the last few days (back in Aus in quarantine now). Meeting the new Japan PM, signing a defence pact, agreeing on joint Australia/Japan military exercises in the South China Sea.

The Aussies are pretty good at stirring up shit and pissing off the Chinese

Australia does need to reduce its dependence on China for exports.
