The West is a Basket Case Maker

Read this excellent short opinion piece in the Manchester Guardian today that reminded me why, for all its faults, I find it hard not to support the non-interventionist Chinese foreign policy.

If only someone could have predicted at the time that things would go this way...

The US should have applied US law in Afghanistan overnight and kept a big chunk of the oil revenue. Would at least have something to show for.

It says here "China may send peacekeeping force to Afghanistan after US troups leave" - probably to non intervene in that particular foreign country.

Here is another one from yesterday - a secret Chinese non-interventionist operation in Kabul:

    https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/ar...blow-for-china

In Kabul late last year, Afghan security forces busted a Chinese cell that had been trying to infiltrate terrorist networks in the country. Although Beijing claimed ignorance about the activities of the group — reports vary on whether there were 10 or 13 people arrested — it reportedly sent a special envoy to secure their release.

Generally but not always in favour of a nonintervention policy. Shame China doesn't carry it out.

Afghans will make mincemeat out of anyone who militarily ventures there as they have throughout their history .
They are quite unique in this respect .
All going to end in tears for the Chinese if they are really rash enough to go there .
Got to say Afghans have the most beautiful lapis lazuli and fantastic men's leather jackets.
Just trade with them otherwise better to keep out .

i forgot this is why NK, Pakistan, Iran are desperately building the bomb.
it is the only safeguard against USA unilaterally toppling you over.
There is no more USSR to watch your back. Cannot relie on UN to save you.

There are consequences for every action. Afghanistan was really not necessary. Consequences is not just incalculable human suffering and huge waste in national resources....but also the world became more dangerous in terms of nukes prolierration.

So you are using NK in support of China's non interventionist policy?

You're citing Iran in support of China's non interventionist policy?

Said it before: Taiwan needs some nuke bombs on big, well hidden, guided missiles to conteract the non-interventioning mainland CCP.
Japan could use a few too.
