I'd have thought the oceans would be enough of a defense. But reading the article, it seems like it is intended to be a training ground for US and may be the quad / regional alliances?Time for Australia to upgrade their defence facilities along it's northern border.
It is in the US's interest to have a regional war. Everyone else who gets involved will be losers.
US marines from the 10th Marine rotational force began arriving in Darwin last month, arriving in groups of 200-500 at a time, will build up to a force of around 2200 by June this year. It's a standard rotational force/training ground rather than any specific war threat, but anyway it still pisses China off every year
