(question - any difference between Diwali, which is what i grew up with, vs Deepavali?)

Happy Deepavali to all of you! Diwali is the five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. ... The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word deepavali, meaning "rows of lighted lamps". Houses, shops and public places are decorated with small oil lamps called diyas. Diwali is the symbol of the victory of good over evil, of hope over despair and of knowledge over ignorance.

Let us all hope for knowledge over ignorance!!!

    My question/thought exactly; I've seen diwali, deepavali/ deepawali. Maybe it's like Christmas/X-mas.

    Anyway, happy Diwali! Geo-fam.

Diwali (English: /dɪˈwɑːliː/)[8] or Divali[42] is from the Sanskrit dīpāvali meaning "row or series of lights"
