Gotta love the right to bear arms

Got to love the old US of A. Those of us in the rest of the world will never pretend to understand how situations like this are permissible in the first place.

Where is the WLM movement? Where are the protests and looting?

The great thing about "self-defense" and "stand your ground" is that you get to decide who gets to have those rights and who doesn't after the fact.

Most of the commentary on this is from people who didn't see the footage or watch the trial. It was pretty cut and dry. The video shows him being physically attacked and having a gun pointed at him when he opened fire to defend himself. Even the prosecution witness verified he was moments from being killed by a mob.

I was surprised that he was not charged or convicted with anything else but having now read about the events and who was shot- all three were convicted criminals, including a multiple child rapist, it's not hard to see why the jury was sympathetic.

All four are indications of how messed up the US is, but I actually feel some sympathy for a gun-toting teen vigilante which has caught me off guard.

But, hey, the guy who bought the gun for Kyle is in jail now. The system works.

A friend put it very well, the prosecution threw away this case by trying to tell a narrative with overzealous charges. If he had been charged with manslaughter instead the case could have very likely turned out differently, since he was clearly out looking for trouble and thus being a danger.

Manslaughter is killing someone without forethought. The prosecution had video evidence of Rittenhouse saying he wished he had an AR-15 to take action against the looters. The judge didn't permit that evidence to be seen by the jury. The prosecution was boxed in in every way by the biased, racist, piece-of-shit judge whose phone ring tone (it went off during the trial) is the song Trump plays at the start of his rallies.

You misspelled "was boxed in by one of the guys he shot literally admitting that he aimed a handgun at Kyle"

I'm trying to get my head round this one. There were so many over the top charges. If the prosecution just stuck with a few charges, then he might have been found guilty.
