No clue about the death counts... but upswing in deaths?

The averages are currently out-of-whack because of Thanks-giving. But if you weed out the holiday effect cases are up 20% week-on-week while deaths are currently flat but in the US it has reliably followed the case curve with a delay of about three weeks.

This is not even including any potential super-charging effect that the Thanks-giving holidays would add to the case counts in the coming weeks.

The USA is on another upswing of cases and deaths. They will reach 800,000 deaths by the middle of December.

On Worldometer, they passed 800,000 days ago. Reporting of cases was way down for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend (better to stay home and infect your whole family!). I have been watching and it's been around 1500 deaths per day on weekdays, down to 200 on weekends which tells you reporting falls off on weekends...

Umm, no. If you want to take a religious view, you can say God inspired the scientists who invented the vaccine, in order to save humanity. Even if the virus is from Satan himself...

There is a subReddit, Herman Cain award (named after the US Presidential candidate who minimized covid and then died of covid after some Republican rally), that tracks people's anti-vax Facebook or other social media postings to their eventual death from covid. Pretty interested reading if somewhat shadenfreude-esque...
