US over a half million per day, impossible to get a test in most places so severely undercounting (also undercounting the significant numbers of home testers). Saw a graphic on the news that, amazingly, still 60 percent or so is estimated to be delta (not that US sequences all the much). Also, places like France and Germany are still overwhelmingly delta. Was quite surprised by this...
The latest scaremongering is the "super omicron-delta" that mutates when some lucky bugger gets both at the same time and they combine in his system...pretty sure if that happens it will be one of the many super-unhealthy people in the US who does it, so FINALLY the US can spread its own mutation to the world (they've been feeling neglected...).
