The Philippine General Hospital, the largest public hospital in the Philippines, has had no covid admissions for two days.
A covid ward in the hospital:
The whole country is now on alert level 2, the second lowest level. My kids enjoyed a day out at the shopping mall yesterday, first time this year.
Passengers arriving in Hong Kong from the UK are now required to spend three months in quarantine on the plane before a further three months naked in a sealed room with food delivered once a week through an airlock. Garbage will be collected at the end of the three months.
The story linked too is not the one shown. It is about there now being 104 cases of omicron variant identified in the UK

So here we are pretty much two years in. WHO calls it a variant of concern, then pretty much in the next breath says no need to panic and start restricting travel etc. Countries that decided they can live with Covid are pretty much falling like dominoes and saying ok maybe we can’t. Local restrictions are increasing, international travel restrictions are creeping in.
How can we end this madness? Surely the Covid scientists of this world can come up with some international and neutral consensus? If the symptoms of the new variant are mild, as current reports seem to indicate, what’s the panic.
Yours, frustrated in HK. 2027, this message succeeded in not being blocked without a VPN
