A memorable line in The Guardian...

Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrat leader, reiterated his call for Johnson to step down, saying: “The Queen sitting alone, mourning the loss of her husband, was the defining image of lockdown. Not because she is the Queen, but because she was just another person, mourning alone like too many others. Whilst she mourned, Number 10 partied. Johnson must go.”

The staff of Number 10 are in the main civil servants and not party members. The aren't employed by the conservative party and many will stay on when the next leader starts living at Number 11. Obviously the leadership of the Executive Branch should have ensured all government offices were following lock down regulations.

The known scale of the parties does seem like it was one rule for them and one for us. I do find it hard to be indignant when the covid statistics seem to show that rules were broken all over the country.

It’s pretty ff’ing obvious that the reason so many people flouted restrictions; the public, medical professionals, politicians, police etc etc is because the restrictions were stupid.

If the risk from Covid was so severe self preservation would kick in; it wasn’t and it didn’t,….. apart from with the elderly where the risk was tangible.

This Pathetic bleating from the weak and the frightened trying to bring the strong and the healthy down to their level is truly nauseating.

The chairman of Credit Suisse has resigned today, ostensibly for covid breaches... another chip away at the last bit of the last leg Boris is standing on.

I suspect it was the miss-use of the company jet with a bunch or virtue signaling about covid. The statistics seems to suggest either he visited millions of homes while infected or rule breaking was quite common.

Following his statements that no one told him the parties were against the rules and when asked if he misled parliament, let's wait to see what the independent inquiry finds (rather than denying he lied) he may be out sooner rather than later
