Djokovic remains on the Indian Wells entry list, which is being drawn today, despite not being allowed into America because of his vaccination status. The Indian Wells in California is largely considered the unofficial "5th Grand Slam".

Now in Australia, unvaccinated people are free to enter the country since all mandates have been rolled back months ago.
But Novak Djokovic is not allowed to enter since he received an automatic 3 year ban from entering Australia. Now he wants to play in Australian open again in January but Aus tells him to fuck off and come back again in 2.5 years. Now he has hired an immigration lawyer to see if he can appeal and enter in January.

I don't know, seems kind of petty to me. Sure, kick him out last year, don't let him play, 3-year ban, over the top due to the fact that he had been told he had some kind of exemption. Even the court agreed with him on this procedural issue. I don't like him, also don't care about tennis, but I think this just makes Australia look bad.
Massive U Turn, he's got a visa to play next year LOL
https://www.thenationalnews.com/spor...stralian-open/news confirmed by Australia's immigration minister, who said he "personally" intervened to ensure the former world No 1 would be granted entry.
This looks a fair result for his situation, and the Aussies look good for being strict but fair.
