    Singapore: Remote RAT testing...

Just saw this while researching some testing protocols.

Come on HK! Atleast give us the option to take tests via FAX!

These tests are valid for pre-departure testing for boarding a flight to Singapore ...

Pre-departure COVID-19 PCR, professionally administered ART, or self-administered and remotely supervised by an ART provider in Singapore providing such services taken within 2 days before departure for Singapore

Doctor Anywhere charges $12.84 for the service, which does not include ART kits.

During the 30-minute consultation, the person taking the test will have to keep his video camera on and ensure that the ART kit is visible so that results can be verified by the swab supervisor.

Ms Ivin Yew, director of projects and strategy at Doctor Anywhere, told ST that precautionary measures are taken to ensure that Covid-19 test results are accurate.

For instance, before the test begins, users will be asked to check that all parts of the ART kit, such as the swab stick and testing reagent, are unopened.

The swab stick will also have to be inserted to a depth of about 2.5cm in the nostril.

Great way to ease unemployment. Call centers to certify following RAT protocol.

Singapore already had Covid breathalysers at all entry points for a year Result in seconds rather than a PCR test

Not for cross border traffic from what I can see. You still need to do a RAT and upload to the gov site for a lot of things - including place of work testing.

BTW I do like their sync system. Upload the RAT result or any result from a testing facility and it can be shared with a predetermined list - like employers etc. (Not studied it any further than reading a few FAQs and it sounds pretty decent..)

Would this work for flights to other places, like Manila, which also require a professional RAT?

From what little I read - it is for residents to self test while being monitored. Really not sure if its available to everyone and/or accepted anywhere other than SGP.
