    Food supply will get tighter

Seems the food supply will get much tighter. Russia and Ukraine are/where main wheat produces, at least Ukraine will have problems for a while. And now China seems to have some issues due to climate change:

As far as wheat is concerned, I think India is stepping up its export game in some manner to fill the shortage.

The reports always seem to suggest that most wheat comes from Russia and Ukraine but a quick Google shows that they are way less than half of global exports, the Ukraine a much smaller part. If you then look at wheat production it is much much smaller because several countries don't export at the moment.

I honestly don't know. I have not checked what the reserves are like or what the monsoons are going to be like..

All I know is that they are aggressively increasing exports by several million tons this year - and there might be logistics constraints too.

Yes it is a biggie but it is not a third of the world's wheat. That is my point. And I don't think Russia will produce zero wheat.

Ukraine exports half the wheat they produce - India produces much more than Ukraine, but exports nothing...

Top importers Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, China...

Been seeing news reports over the weekend that India has banned or put some restrictions on wheat exports - due to an unusually high temperatures and soaring local inflation.

India has prohibited wheat exports, the government said in a notification late on Friday.

The world’s second-biggest wheat producer is trying to calm local prices.

Global buyers were banking on the world’s second-biggest wheat producer for supplies after exports from the Black Sea region plunged following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in late February.

The FT reports that exports may continue... or may not ..

A day after saying it was implementing a ban on overseas sales, New Delhi said on Sunday it would “ensure the fulfilment of the genuine needs” of those nations that are dependent on its wheat for food security.
