    Sue Gray Report - Released

The senior civil servant’s verdict on the culture that developed in No10 and Whitehall during the pandemic is keenly awaited in Westminster, where Boris Johnson will respond to the findings later on Wednesday.

No 10 insiders are being given time to read printed copies of the report, before it is published at approximately 11am.

Will it sway any of the 1922 comittee?

Have marginal Tories 'permanently' left the blue side due to supping wine in the office during lock downs?

Does it say all is OK because Corbyn did it as well?

EVERY UK Prime minister is increasingly beleaguered.

I think the moderately blue voter doesn't really care that much anymore.

The indignant will still be indignant but more vocal

Mr Johnson appears lacking policy and that will be more of a problem in the coming weeks.

    Levelling Up is failing
Low Un-employment not attributed to Mr Johnson
    Inflation is high
    etc

His 2nd 1/2 of his stint as PM lacks direction. He will be gone by Christmas (or just after food / energy inflation issues recede).

Latest polls show MP for Uxbridge & South Ruislip would loose his seat and only 3 of 80-odd seats won in 2019 would be retained - mostly as too many southerners are sick to back teeth of this PM and his cabinet.

For all, £15bn handouts may help but with energy price cap highly likely to jump again in Autumn just as colder nights set in, more inflation, likely recession & slipping behind vs G7, etc, more hardship, plunging Sterling, and sweet FA to show for “getting Brexit done”, etc, etc, ad nauseum - and perhaps only getting vaccines right - jam now unlikely to save them in 2023 (probable election date).

The latest throwing public cash at the problem are just populist nonsense and probably seen as just cash for popularity by the majority and welcomed by the poor minority without any change in voting habits. A total waste of public money. Writing laws forcing utility companies to have tiered pricing so the poorest rather than the richest get the best rates would be a better solution. The energy cap is a stupid policy as it links energy prices to politicians who have no control over them and will just result in more subsidies for carbon emitting power generators.
