If reports are true, even her father doubts her ability, allegedly saying her "ambition doesn't match her ability" in regards to being a PM.

81K to 60K. Not really a resounding mandate and membership of the Tory party has shrunk hasn't it?

To answer my own question, no in the last leadership vote the number was very similar.

But in 2005 it was around 200k

    It's official..

Truss, until now the U.K.’s foreign minister, beat rival Rishi Sunak, the country’s former finance minister, to win the leadership race. With members of the Conservative Party asked to vote for their favorite candidate over the last few weeks, 81,326 members voted for Truss while 60,399 members voted for Sunak. Turnout was 82.6% with 172,437 party members voting in total.

I don't think he should have become the PM anyways.. Ready or not the situation is a bit of a shit show and Rishi does not inspire a shit ton of confidence as a statesman and leader.

Don't think we need a brown person becoming the face of failure...

(But to a large extent you are right..)

Maybe the Tory party memebership wasn’t but I don’t know the country as a whole would have a problem with it.

Boris is an idiot but his survival instinct tempered his ambition. Liz does not have any self awareness and for that reason I think she will actually be worse than Boris
