To answer my own question, no in the last leadership vote the number was very similar.

But in 2005 it was around 200k

I don't think he should have become the PM anyways.. Ready or not the situation is a bit of a shit show and Rishi does not inspire a shit ton of confidence as a statesman and leader.

Don't think we need a brown person becoming the face of failure...

(But to a large extent you are right..)

Boris is an idiot but his survival instinct tempered his ambition. Liz does not have any self awareness and for that reason I think she will actually be worse than Boris

I was never a Maggie supporter but she had conviction. You knew what she stood for and you agreed or not. Truss is for Truss as far as I can see.

When all is said and done her future and the immediate future of the Conservative Party will be defined by how she tackles the rising fuel bills.

Unless you are a die hard voter loyal to a party come what may it all boils down to £ in the pocket.

peiple understand simple economics but too many people fail to understand that money spent has to be recouped.

Ask anyone if more money should be spent on emergency services the answer is an unequivocal yes. Ask those same people if they will accept a 2pc rise in their income tax and the answer isn’t so unequivocal.

We all know the Brexit debate and for the Tories to hold firm with that they need to offer something that most in the EU are doing.

The money can actually come without raising taxes but will be met with resistance wherever it is attempted. Defence would be my option but I suspect that’s not a popular one.

Will she have the strength and the ability? I doubt it very much. I think they’re on the brink of imploding as they’ve done before. Her opportunity has almost been handed to her on a plate and could be her Falklands moment.

    Yours very doubtingly. BBE
