    Successful 3rd terms or more

Looking at some of the long serving heads of the power arm of government is longevity a food thing for a leader?

    1994 Alexander Lukashenko Belarus
    1999 Vladimir Putin Russia
    2000 Paul Kagame Rwanda
    2000 Bashar al-Assad Syria
    2003 Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Turkey
    2003 Ilham Aliyev Azerbaijan
    2003 Shavkat Mirziyoyev Uzbekistan
    2004 Lee Hsien Loong Singapore
    2005 Mahmoud Abbas Palestine
    2007 Daniel Ortega Nicaragua

Like what Batman said...twenty years in Gotham, how many good guys are left, how many stayed that way..

Leaving after one term with no desire to seek relection like nelson mandela is rare. To them, this is also a job, a career to keep but ppl still think of it as life calling for justice that these politicians must swear by..

I know you meant this for long but sorta linked, I've been thinking whether countries will eventually all opt for shorter terms instead...not just bcos of UK, the vibe is everywhere, the public just don't have tolerance for screwups or to wait out the term.

The term 'power arm of government' was deliberately chosen as the 'power' followed some leaders between arms of government.
