They lurched to the left with Mr Johnson
Then lurched to the right with Ms Truss
Time for centre right
Mordaunt seems unflappable when the pressure is moderate.

News reporting Boris is on his way back to the UK and is standing (I suspect he spent the whole lettuce era in the Caribbean). I guess it would make Truss an interesting footnote in history rather than an embarrassment for the ages...
The UK is an embarrassment
Seems the opposition parties know Boris could be the best bet for the tories to somehow win the next election though... they're lining up to insist he mustn't be able to stand.
I guess Mordaunt feels the least worst option for some boring politics and tough decisions. Still don't see the party membership voting for Sunak, even if the fuddiest of the duddies probably won't be able to work out how to vote online.
Why can't he stand? He shouldn't but he could
Sunak got 43% of their vote last time. I would suggest it was Ms Truss's 'I'll do what Maggie would do' shtick that got her over the line. Have you looked at the Conservative front Bench in recent years?
This time I guess the choice of leader will be by MP's.

Truss served under more monarchs than any PM in the last 70 years
I cannot take credit for the following but it’s definitely worth sharing.
Truss buried the Queen, the pound and the Tories and was having a bloody good go at burying the country.
Two choices.
Allow the Tory membership to elect another PM
King Charles as Absolute Monarch
Leaser of two evils?
