Yes she says, she transfers from Alipay into Gcash which then can quickly transfer to someone in Philippines in PHP, as I understood it the exchange rate is good.

Favour to ask then from you or anyone else in Hong Kong. Could you do a test transfer to my wife's gcash account? Only needs to be a minimal amount.

From the UK I know the Sendwave app allows sending direct to gcash, let me know if you want to try a test send. I have an offer code that adds £10 to the transfer, so send £1 I receive £11

The Hong Kong HSBC account is agreed so that is another option.

I have done that in the past, there are complications and costs so looking for alternatives.

Can confirm that the transfer to my wife's gcash works fine, easy, cheaply and instant. That was using Wise but Alipay and other platforms would work as well I am sure.

The Hong Kong bank account will also be available which can be done online or at an ATM.

So I know Wise from Hong Kong works beautifully, requesting anyone from other countries and/or other apps that can transfer to gcash to give it a go. Doesn't matter how small the amount.
