Humza Yousaf - Next Scottish First Minister

Hopefully some scotland orgined banks will soon have a subcontinental global CEO / Chairman of the board.

Would love to hear comments from some of those who thought the 007 franchise would be destoryed if someone who was not a white male took over as the new 007.

Humza Yousaf has won the Scottish National Party leadership contest and is set to become Scotland’s First Minister replacing Nicola Sturgeon, it was announced Monday.

“I will be a First Minister for all of Scotland. I will work every minute of every day to earn and to re-earn your respect and your trust,” Yousaf said in his acceptance speech.

Yousaf won 52% of the final votes cast, running on a platform dedicated to delivering Scottish independence, combating the cost-of-living crisis, rejoining the European Union, banning conversion practices, and transitioning to renewable energy, amongst other campaign promises.

He seems very similar to his predecessor. I still agree with Samuel Johnson

    "the racists are out"

yes, can't move for the indifference.

this does though likely mark the start of the end for the SNP. Party is divided. Yousaf barely scraped the win despite being up against a raving free wee. His record of failure and his "continuity" agenda is not going to go down well in a country that needs jobs, housing and poverty rather than fighting pointless battles in Westminster in support of gender recognition and independence.

No, according to wiki he is Hindu

He is the first British Asian and Hindu to hold the office of prime minister. Sunak was born on 12 May 1980 in Southampton General Hospital in Southampton, Hampshire,[2][3] to Southeast African-born Hindu parents of Indian Punjabi descent, Yashvir and Usha Sunak.

Some extraordinary happenings. Partition of Britain, the former colonial ruler, could now be negotiated by an Indian Hindu and a Muslim Pakistani both of whom who have Kenya in their background as well and both of whom come from Punjab (one of the key areas of the partition of India). And if that wasn't enough, if it's even more coincidence, the Hindu wants to keep the country united and the Muslim wants to separate!

    Can't make this stuff up!

Although of course, the referendum taking place would be up to the UK government to grant it since it happened already in 2014.
