Threats never work on the general public of another country , usually the opposite reaction, a lesson never learned.

If the 'separatists' win it will of course be foreign interference to blame. Strange how the CCP thinks people are too stupid to think for themselves.

More pragmatic than DPP but more integrity than KMT

Similar to HK then. The less developed/educated areas tend to be turkeys who vote for Christmas.

Watching the Green victory speech now (Lai Ching-de). Being simultaneously given in English. Just so no one misses the point.

The White guy got almost as much as KMT (that's the young people, just sick of both sides...of course, no one really knew what White platform was).

KMT guy, mayor of my city (New Taipei City). So he won't be unemployed...

Cities- vote green, rural...votes blue. Kind of like US- cities, liberal, Democratic party, rural areas, conservative, Republican party.

But almost half of the population lives in the north (KMT made the right move picking someone from the North, or so they thought- New Tapei City is the largest, most populous "city" in Taiwan, around 4M). He's an ex-police guy, I think after the HK protests, maybe ex-cops are not your best choice these days, people get just a little nervous.

It's a wake-up call to blue and green due to the "protest vote" for the white, just to vote for someone that isn't part of the "establishment."
