    It also costs the tax payer, around $85,000aud pa to incarcerate an inmate.
    The whole judicial system is broken,

    Arson can carry a life sentence in the UK so not too severe

    That's not possible. For sentences above 4 years, must serve 2/3 of sentence. 50% of sentence must be served before parole is considered.

    A chance he could be released as part of early release programme, but as noted above arson is historically considered very serious crime in UK

    From September 2024, due to overcrowding, most sentences have been reduced from 50% to 40% apart from the most serious of offenders with sentences over 4 years.

    District Judge David Murray said 6 months was not enough and Hussain will be sentenced by the Crown Court instead.
