    UK Riots and Violence

Regardless of political stance- the violence and rioting by the racist, violent Yobs are despicable. Thoughts and prayers to the victims and families of the stabbing victims. It's a different dynamic than in the US, where such rioting is seemingly instigated by police shootings.

Far right racist thugs. In Hull they sought to solve the immigration issue by looting and burning a Gregg's.

Attacking Filipino nurses on the way to provide emergency cover because of the rioting.

This is an interesting article and some data about the core issues of migration and the stifling of discussion. There is an issue with migration, media and politics in the UK. On my brief visit this summer, I heard plenty of strong opinions.

The riots are a pointless self-destructive act that do nothing to help.

So I was watching this since the original stabbings. The judge took the unusual step of naming the minor suspect to show that he wasn't a recent asylum seeker but had been born in the UK. Except he is the son of Rwandan immigrants so, uh, not sure that was particularly helpful if the riots are due to anti immigrant sentiment...sigh.

And often ended by police shootings, tanks, etc. In conservative states, yup, no problem killing all the protesters. In coastal cities like LA and NYC, more tolerance for riots. See LA riots related to Rodney King, for example. Even the victim asked Can't we all get along...

They are probably intended to build up membership of the EDL and I am sure have been effective in that.

Not sure on the standing army. I remember the SPG who turned into a group of thugs in uniform.

I expect the end of the riots to coincide with the beginning of the football season this weekend.
