Of course Trump is a liar. All politicians are, but Trump to a higher degree for sure. But that doesn't excuse the media for also being purveyors of misinformation, whether intentional (see Covid) or just because they are not very good at their jobs. Case in point from the post debate chat.

There were indeed quite a few examples of people thinking he pulled the name Abdul out of the air. Presumably just on the basis that the majority of what comes out of his mouth is straight lies. But on this one he was pretty much accurate and some anti-Trump people were made to look foolish.

Trump said he told “Abdul” to instruct his snipers to stop killing U.S. troops in Afghanistan, telling a disjointed story about how he sent “Abdul”—who Trump called “the head of the Taliban” and “is still the head of the Taliban”—a photo of his house, presumably as a threat.

The nominal head of the Taliban since 2016 has been Hibatullah Akhundzada.

It’s unclear who Trump was referring to, but he was likely referring to one of the Taliban’s negotiators with the U.S., Abdul Ghani Baradar.

There are plenty of examples of people saying the earth is flat. Were there any credible sources?

I only searched for a link to the video which I’d seen before, so yes, I hadn’t heard of him before in my life.

If you can’t address the facts, which others have successfully have in this thread and I’ve acknowledged, and would rather go down some rabbithole where I was there on January 6th, it’s your prerogative, but I’d much rather not be involved in your version of Fight Club, thanks.
