Imagine a world where NATO is fractured by the handing of Ukraine to Russia and Trump picking fights with China. It looks like the world is in for a rocky ride.

NATO has provided EUR 800 million of non-lethal aid to Ukraine.



Germany have ramped up there military support to Ukraine in 2024 after a dubious start (faulty tanks etc)

Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Hungary are all failing to support a country defending its borders from an aggressive totalitarian state who has invaded a prospective member of the EU.

The failure of holding back Russia is not the Fault of Trump or the USA.

The US has done more than the bulk of Europe. So in relative terms perhaps enough. Could they do more - Yes, but why is the US paying when EU member state refuse to.

I blame the
- Taoiseach of Ireland
- President of France
- Prime Minister of Italy
- Prime Minister of Spain
- Prime Minister of Greece (1300 German made main battle tanks sat idle)
- Prime Minister of Portugal
- Chancellor of Austria
- Prime minister Hungary (although less so given his election campaign)
- And the EU politburo for a complete lack of a rallying cry to defend its democratic neighbours

No however Trump could very hand over Ukraine on a silver plate to Russia and that WILL be on him if it happens. He could for exemple force Ukraine to accept a settlement or threaten with his first buddy Musk to turn off Starlink which would cripple their military. That kind of action could not only have grave consequences on NATO but also on our side of the world. We'll see what happens in a few months. For now, all of Trump's announcements are just hot air...

Although I am not seeing a clamour of concern from the European Leaders scrambling to fill the hole left potentially from a country from a different continent withdrawing support.
