Any way as said in another post, a circus. Welcome to the world of Philippine politics (we are in the middle of an election campaign). I have always said it is like Game if Thrones but now there are only two families left.

She receives information about a plot to kill her, coincidentally her security is taken from her and placed under the control of the Presidential.Security. Her assistant is placed in jail for contempt as part of a major witch hunt against her that has been going on for over a year.

So she thinks it would be a good idea to publicly state that if she is killed then so will they be. Her argument being it is only a threat if they do intend to kill her.

Stupid on her part. The police have just filed an assault against her for assault while she was illegally transferring by force her assistant to a private hospital.

As to fearing for the country, it is hardly making the news here. You seem to forget two failed military coups by Trillanes on behalf of the Liberal Party, former President Arroyo being detained by the Liberal Party for six years without trial. And of course before that the Marcos dictatorship.

People here are used to the circus which is much more extreme at local level.

Do I think there is or was a plot to kill her? Certainly assassinations are not rare at local level but at national level no. It is not America where Presidents or candidates form a firing range.

It would also be strange given that the Marcos camp has the Duterte camo on the ropes (the Liberal Party and the Communist Party hardly exist any more)

The last survey I saw for the 12 Senate seats up for next year showed the predicted result would be
Marcos camp 9
Independent 2
Duterte camp 1
Liberals zero for the third election in a row.

While Sarah has always been a strong favourite to be the next President her polling figures have plummeted as the attacks have come non stop.

So it would be stupid and Illogical. That doesn't mean it wasn't real though.

If you say so. For her supporters who in many cases are as rabid as those of Trump her opponent needs no demonising. No I seriously think she feared for her life. The hatred poured out on her in the last year has been incredible.
