That had me confused, seems there are two PALs operating. This is a Canadian regional airline not Philippine Airlines

Is it possible to open the emergency exit when the plane has landed & going at that speed?
Depends on the aircraft and door type. On the Boeing 777 for example the doors can't be opened if airspeed is above 80 knots. Opening any door before the plane comes to a stop/before being ordered by the crew is a terrible idea though.

supposedly for any jets they are able to fly on a single engine if the other one is out... and engine failure should not affect landing gears ?

And the pilots got out a mayday call so they were not incapacitated.

That concrete wall seems to be partly to blame, too. If they hadn't slammed into it igniting all the fuel, maybe they could have finally slid to a stop.

There was a slope and several structures outside the airfield, at the speed it was going it probably would have took off and landed on civilian infrastructure.

    Just seen this

    ANOTHER JEJU AIR FLIGHT

JUST IN: A Jeju Air flight from Seoul was forced to return to the airport on Monday after a landing gear issue was detected, the airline said, just one day after South Korea's d*adliest plane cr*sh.

The Boeing 737-800 involved in the incident is the same model as the Jeju Air aircraft that crashed on Sunday, k*ll*ng 179 people after its landing gear failed to deploy.

Jeju Air Flight 7C101, which took off from Seoul's Gimpo International Airport at 6:37 a.m. bound for Jeju Island, turned back to Gimpo at 7:25 a.m. after the problem with the landing gear was detected shortly after takeoff.

Following the incident, South Korea announced it would conduct a special inspection of all 101 Boeing 737-800 planes in operation in the country. US investigators, possibly including representatives from the aircraft's manufacturer Boeing, are expected to join the investigation. | via AFP

SK: Hal, Undelete the erased recording.
Hal: I'm sorry, SK, I cannot do that.

(Hal is a new Boeing robot in this episode of 2001.)
