Will his going NOW help his party at the next general election?

I know incumbents are generally unpopular at the moment but what in particular is the cause of his unpopularity? My Canadian friends who go on about him tend to be at the Trump, Farage, East Coast , end of the political spectrum so I can't take everything they say as gospel truth.

It's because most people are getting sick of the Biden, Trudeau and Hullexile end of the political spectrum, with the opposite end offering a breath of fresh air with their pledges to undo the damage.

Is this the same Hullexile who gets accused of supporting a fascist?

Nope, what people are sick of is inflation, rising costs of living, housing shortages and unbridled immigration. They'll simply turn to the other side for awhile and they certainly won't be able to solve these problems because there's no easy solution. People will get sick of their blunders and in a few years time, the wheel will turn again as it always does...

Trudeau's image seems quite different on international stage vs domestic. Most Canadians I know from all political stripes have been fed up with him for a while.

This shows more of the average Canadian frustration, similar to what DonDiego mentioned. https://youtu.be/eJHm03osbHc?si=DfLvLs8Bh5roJ4bU
