I'd be surprised if there was a school in HK that doesn't ban phone usage in class.
100% for this. A lot of schools in the US are using products like Yondr to block phone access. I would give major points to any educater that follows suit.

Smartphones...One of the greatest and at the same time worst invention of our times...Incredibly useful yet a plague that is probably as harmful to our health as tobacco, alcohol or sugar.
I know of several schools in HK that do not allow phones to be used on school premises,
every student must keep them in the locker after arriving and can take them out while leaving.
Last year they started banning phones from schools in the Netherlands. The results, as recently reported in newspaper articles, are very positive so they will continue this policy.
Prediction: at least one country will ban people under 18 owning smartphones in 2025
