    So...

I have friends who are crying, raising petitions, looking to protest. I have friends who are cheering and playing "leaving on a jet plane"

(Time for Musk to attack the ICC, hiring a private Learjet to collect him?)

Personally not moved, fed up with the Philippines political circus of which this is part. Duterte's attacks on Marcos have become more and more outrageous hence the impeachment of Sara D. and this turnabout on cooperating with the ICC (officially they did not cooperate with the ICC but with Interpol).

I think the ICC case is weak and lacking evidence. Not helped if they keep referring to the "30,000" which was invented by Trillanes and has no basis.

Still feeling shit, hence the time of posting.

What do you mean by “agencies”? Duterte was picked up in his own country. I guarantee you, should Putin ever get disposed, his own Siloviki will treat extradition to The Hague as the easiest option. Of course, there might be conveniently located windows somewhere en route to The Hague, but the acting agencies aren’t the ICC. The ICC needn’t be brave

There is a warrant out for Putin from ICC. If he was arrested in whatever country based on the warrant then ICC would have to be brave and process it. I don't think they would without Russia's blessing.

I'm pretty sure the ICC would have no problem doing so. I am sure any country that Putin would visit would think many a time before actually arresting him, let alone extradite him. By the time he would be extradited to The Hague, he would be presumably out of power, Milosevic-style

Some comments on the first hearing.

FFS the ICC have had 8 years working on this.

You would think they could find an English translator who knew how to pronounce his name. "Dutert" throughout.

More seriously he is charged with 117 murders, 94 by "the Davao Death Squad". Whether there was a death squad or not, it was never called the Davao Death Squad. This was a name made up by a Manila journalist. So the ICC are using a fictitious name. Not a great way to prove guilt.

117 murders. Crime against humanity? Seems there were many leaders responsible for a few more.

Duterte sounds really weak. Can't see him surviving the trial. Given he had 91% approval, a martyr is created.

The Duterte camp have received a boost in the polls. The unlikely conviction of Sara Duterte has now become extremely unlikely and if he dies she is a certainty for President in 2028.

Still feeling shit. Seem to be at my best at 3am. Perhaps becoming a vampire?

Much more importantly my daughter was a top 5 Grand Finalist. As second youngest of the 27 contestants she was happy with that. The top 5 had a street parade today.
